Through one-to-one connections with students, we improve literacy skills, provide faith-based support, and work together to make our community a better place.
A community where every child is literate, feels valued, and can realize their God-given potential.
FAITH – Our faith is the cornerstone of our service. We strive to be Christ-like in our words and actions and, through this work, be His hands and feet. It is what inspires us to be the change we wish to see in our community.
COMPASSION – We do all things through love – love for the children we serve, love for our neighbors, and love for God. We know our work can only be successful if we care about those we serve, so we strive to lead with empathy and understanding to make others feel valued, seen and encouraged.
SERVICE – To serve others with joy is a reciprocal blessing – it is not only rewarding for those that we support, it is also a fulfilling experience for us. For us, children come first. We want every child to be a successful reader and fulfill their purpose in life, so we must be dedicated, reliable, and committed to our collective goals.
GROWTH – We believe all children can learn, and we celebrate their progress in all forms. We strive to be better tomorrow than we are today, and we model a growth mindset as life-long learners. We are always evaluating ways to better serve and putting what we learn into practice.
COLLABORATION – Our strength comes from one another. We recognize that no one can do this work alone, and we must be partners to ensure the next generation has the tools they need to thrive. Through this partnership, we can accomplish our most ambitious goals and best meet the needs of those we serve.
INTEGRITY – We must “walk the walk” to ensure those we serve know they can rely upon us. This requires great sincerity and dedication, even when challenges arise. To stay true to our mission, we must hold ourselves and each other accountable and be honest about our intentions and capacity. We will always show up, be present, and be reliable for those we serve.
